SOFTLY International
is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization serving children
living in severe poverty. Our mission is to reach out to
poor and often orphaned Central American children with
programs and missions that provide health, security,
educational opportunities as simple acts of love.

name SOFTLY stands for:

A key feature of our programs is
“we return.” We often arrive with
other relief organizations to assist a community after a disaster
such as a hurricane but following the rescue and relief operations,
we return to continue helping the children and their families
rebuild their lives and restore their hope.
Our concept is that we are all one global family and family love is
not just a “hand out” to a sad child in a strange land but a
“helping hand” creating new opportunities and futures.

A Bed For Every Child
-
is a unique opportunity to make a long term difference in each
child’s developmental years. The blessing of these cribs and bunk
beds are improved health, restful sleep for growth and school
achievement, and building faith and hope for the future. Often these
simple, sturdy beds are the only items of furniture in a tiny shanty
with dirt floors. And, on return trips, even years later, we find
that these beds are still there used each day as a very special
place for a child to sleep, to play, to study, and to pray.
Other SOFTLY projects involve partnerships with like-minded
organizations which have the purpose and passion to make a lasting
difference in the lives of children in the global family. These
projects and proposals include community centers with childcare,
health clinics, and vocational training centers. |
